What is Ruqyah and is it permissible in Islam?

Ruqyah is the recitation of Quran, supplications, and authentic adhkar over a person seeking healing or protection. The Prophet ﷺ practiced it himself and instructed the Sahabah to do so. It is not only permissible but encouraged, provided it is free of shirk, in clear Arabic from authentic sources, and with the belief that the cure is from Allah alone.
